Default Insurance update

Progressive is fantastic! Great people to talk to on the phone. The young lady that took the claim info was great to talk to. The adjuster today was quick to return my call and handled it all very well. Took my statement then put me in touch with her insurance company. Her insurance on the other hand, PEKIN INSURANCE, the adjuster was just plain rude. Of course, I expected that. I am not their customer. Stay tuned.

I have had a feeling for sometime now that young people texting and talking on cell phones are our biggest enemy. It's not just the young but I think they are the biggest offenders. Just the other day I was watching what looked like a middle aged lady driving an SUV talking on her cell phone. She was sitting on the corner of a side road and just as I was about to her she starts to pull out. I honked and pointed my finger at her so she knew I was mad. If I hadn't of been paying attention it could have been all over for me even though I had the right away.

Her admission of fault will probably change once the insurance gets involved. Always does.

Outlaw cell phones in cagers and watch how the accident rate will drop. Saw a person the other with a phone to his ear and eating a sandwich while driving. I dropped back a mile. Glad your okay. I was shocked at the cost of a replacement painted fender for an Ultra Classic >$400.

I've been at Myrtle Beach Spring Rally since last Saturday. This morning there was a news report of a 60 year rider who was killed by a guy driving a pickup truck, on the wrong side of the road. He was texting! According to the news the driver was issued a 'failure to yield' ticket. What?? That's it!

10 jr high questions and you too can get a license to kill. I don't think driving should be a privilege everyone should be allowed to do. Let's make the testing a little more advance, more like a trucker's license or a pilot. It sure would thin the herd.

While I agree with your sentiment, I think tougher standards would only lead to more unlicensed/uninsured drivers on the road. How do I know? I live in Phoenix, AZ. Unlicensed/uninsured/illeagle people everywhere. All kinds of laws, and all kinds of law breakers

You may be on to something, LCJoe. On my way home after the incident, I was thinking about my attitude to the store. I didn't have my pilot thought process activated. I am usually more observant on the bike than any other time, constant looking for an out in case of an emergency, but Wednesday I was a little to lax. It was a long day at work and too many work issues to think about. I should have recognized that my mind wasn't on the ride and drove to the store.
It doesn't change the fact that she zoomed out in front of me, but my reaction could have been faster or different had my distractions been dealt with prior to riding.

Thanks Birdman. My deductible just happens to be $375. What happened to the days where a new fender was 80 bucks and it didn't bother anyone to cut it down?
