RE: RK-RG-UC which/why
I have a Road King Classic, so I think it is the most beautiful bike ever made. However, we have only made day trips of a hundred miles or so, and I don't think I would want to go much further.
I know I could survive three days in the rain on it, but I don't know about all that leather.
Wifey would probably rent a car and say "Love you bye, see you when you get home".

Well, as an owner of an 03 Road King Classic and an 07 Ultra I'd have to put it this way...
The Road King is at home equally on the side streets as it is on the highway. As was previously stated, take the windshield off and it's perfect for around the townweek night cruising. The Ultra isn't as much fun to drive "around town" (weight), but wins hands down when the Interstate is calling.
If ya can't have both, IMHO the Road King is a great compromise - you can always add a tour pack and the stereo options of your choice... I bring an MP3 player along on those occasions.
