I have both a RG and an EGC. The EGC is the best bang for the buck if you don't want the CB, lowers orenhanced soundlike the UCEG.I added the tour pack on the RG, and cruise and fairing lowers on the EGC. Personally, I like the EGC best for long haul (500 or more miles a day), and the RG for shorter runs.I thinkthe EGC is better in a crosswind because you sit closer to the windshield, and there is less turbulence. I don't necessarily agree that the RG is more stable because of the frame mounted fairing. This is the second bike I've had with a frame mounted fairing. It's all a matter of personal taste and how the bike fits you. Try to ride all if you can before you buy. Our local dealer always seems to have used bikes or new ones in the demo fleet to use for comparison. Half the fun of getting a new bike is trying to figure out which one to get. I also have an XL1200R and a Buell Ulysses for the local stuff. So take your time and make sure what you get is what you want and what's the best for you personally, not what someone else thinks you should have! Have a blast making up your mind!
Whaaaaat??? If you bought a RKC, you are now recommending a Road Glide? Huh... First time I've seen such a strong recommendation against their own ride...
I havent hade a RG, but I have had an EGC and an Ultra.
For the long haul the Ultra is king with the EG right behind. I now have a RK...why, cause you can dress it up for long distance, and you can strip it down for around town. Best of both worlds.
