It's the floorboard support that's supposed to be in the middle position not the peg. The kit attaches to the floorboard bracket. It's not the kit per se that causes the problem, it's the middle position of the support.

Yea, I didn't say it very well, but that's what I mean't. I moved the Floorboard mount to the middle position and then attached the Adjustable Peg bracket. Like I said, no issue removing the Derby cover.
