I have a 2008 FLHTCU 105th anniversary model with the seat that has the brown down the middle. This is my second seat with this bike because the seat seam on the right side splits open. It is in the exact same spot on both of the seats that I have had. While at the dealership there was another bike that was the same as mine in service and the seat on that one was separating too. Is anyone elsa having this problem? Here is a picture of the seat

 

I've seen that also (not on my bike) best bet would be find an upholstery shop have em make a new cover with heavy vinal or even leather.

 

The first one I fought with the insurance company and finally came to an agreement that they would replace the seat for $150.00.

 

Good thing that105th anniversary only comes around once

 

The seat on my 2012 SG is starting to do that in the exact same spot.

 

My mechanic at the dealer ship says that there is an issue with a CVO seat they are dealing with as well, and those are $1200.00. The MoCo just don't care!

 

Stock HD seats suck, not only are they uncomfortable, but cheaply made with staples on the bottom. I wouldn't waste my time with another, but have one custom made or get a Mustang.....

 

My 2012 Electra Glide split as well. I took it to an upholstery shop and got a better grade of vinyl installed. It's working out well now.

I read about that somewhere. They were saying the cause was from sitting on a big fat wallet.

 

I'll bet thats the side that you keep your wallet in.
