Default Packing tip? Saddle bag liners - Worth it?

Are saddle bag liners worth the space they take up? I'm looking at HD Premium Liner Bags; they look like a small suitcase.

I can see the convenience of being able to grab a bag and go, but are there better options?

My wife and I are planning a 5 day trip, our first over-nighter, and would appreciate any travel packing tips from the forum.

Thanks in advance!

I like mine and after you get the liners in the bag you can smoosh them down and get a little more on top.

I have the soft bag liners from HD and it helps a lot for trips and even maintence making it easier to remove the junk from the bag when I want to remove them. I think HD makes a different bag that looks like it semi-hard I wouldn't want that option figuring the bag itself would take up useful space.

I do like having my liners. The way my wife and I pack is, she gets the right liner I get the left liner and the trunk liner goes for "neutral" stuff. Ie bathroom and what ever. Usually what ever means what my wife couldn't fit of her stuff into the right side liner. But the thing I like the most, you bring them into the room, roll everything up and put into liner. Then go drop liners into bag. And do the same at hotel. Makes it very easy.

I love the soft liners. It makes packing and loading easy. When you get to the Hotel you just pull them out and you're good to go.

I trained my wife right, I tell her she gets a saddle bag , and half of the tour pak rack bag, if it doesn't fit that it isn't going. She is real good about packing.
And I get the inside of the tour pack, and about a half of the other hard bag , because of tools and rain gear.

I use mine all the time. They take very little space and is fairly convienent. This way you pack in the house and just drop them in. Since the first time with the wife, might I suggest that share what you can. ie, toothpaste, shampoo what ever. And you will probably overpack (at least the wife) or mine always does. Even on our last trip she said that she was going to stop bringing different tops for everyday. haha, I will believe that when I see it. HTH

HELL to the yeah they are useful. However, saddlemen has a bag for like 20 bucks. Does the same as the overpriced Harley and it is durable.
