Default Won't start in gear!!

I have read a few threads but none with a final solution.

2009 FLHT 103, PC 5.

Picked bike up over the weekend from winter mods, I had 12" bars put on.
Everything works Lights, Signals, Stereo controls, neutral indicator, Cruise control etc..

Problem is bike will not start in gear, I read about a clutch perch switch in previous threads but I can not find it in the service manual.

Other than that the bike runs fine, starts right up in neutral just not in gear. I know "always start it in neutral". But, bike started in gear prior to bar swap.

Any ideas, what else can cause this?

I think you already have it figured out with the clutch side switch.

does it disengage the throttle when you use the cruise control and pull in the clutch?

Someone messed up and either did not wire the clutch safety switch correct, or at all. look in your manuals index for "Clutch interlock switch".

And look at the wiring schematic for left hand controls. your probably going to have to take the controls on left side apart to make sure switch is undamaged and wires intact. note the wire colors..then trace down to the connectors from from there and check those wires. If someone did the work for you, take it back, its their problem.

Usually roll throttle forward but will try that tomorrow.

Didn't happen to change out the levers with cheapies off eBay did ya? Some of the cheap ones don't even have the tab that activates the clutch engaged switch. Ask me how I found THAT out!
