Default Has Anyone Upgraded Rear Light Bar??

I wanted to remove the stock rear light bar on my 2010 SG. Use a curved license plate to cover some of the holes. For turn signals/brake lights I was thinking about using plasma rods from Custom Dynamics.

Wanting to know if anyone has modified their bike and removed the rear light bar?
Any pics or input would be great. Just trying to change up the look on the rear fender a bit.
Thanks

Cant help on the removal but I wouldnt recommend plasma rods as your only lights.

I have them on my bike and like them a lot as secondary lights, but they are not very bright in the day light.

I am thinking of something similar to above;
  • take the rear light bar and cut the bars off the mount
  • round the edges/sand it smooth and paint it black to match the fender
  • replace the lower running light with a 3rd brake led assembly from ebay
  • run plasma rods between bags/filler strips for turn signals/brakes

Doing this will prevent me having the little plastic plug show up on the bottom of the fender

I like that, are the plasma rods enough light in your opinion?
