Yeah, I wonder if he has really looked at his bike before. Using a bread tie or duct tape would of been redneck. Spending 50-100 vs using common sense and patience is more of an amusing stereotype in my opinion.

I guarantee you that done properly you will not see those zip ties used to hold that phone mount. I have already put 1k miles with the mod in place and no movement/shifting/etc... and actually a few other people have asked me where i got my mount because they say they like it better than their phone mount, which is funny because theirs are actually bike phone mounts.

might want to mount on the left side for easier accessibility if you have the room I put mine on right because my power vision is going on left. I am going to switch them around for easier accessibility while driving.

Wykd...my only comment is that short antennas are just about as good as short dobbers. They will work, but bigger is always better when you are trying to capture an rf wave..not to mention antenna efficiency. So your claim that it works just as good, to your ears, may be valid...but understand that you will not have the reception of weak FM VHF signals that you once had. You may be into mp3's anyway and not so much into FM, thus the performance of the antenna may not be important anyway.

Nothing wrong in trying innovative solutions. Doesn't matter if you buy them a Wally world or not. Pay no attention to the guys taunting you about what you shared here on the forum. It's their way of saying they were not smart enough or had the creativity to do anything that the dealer cannot do for them.

If I wanted to hang a phuckin closeline off the back of my Limited, I would do so and to hell with the harley wannabes.

Joe, I follow what your saying 100% that makes complete sense. The other day I was out and had forgot to mount my phone and was using the radio and crossed that magic line, and yes it was a bit shorter than it normally is in a car. I would say maybe 2-3 miles shorter where the signal started to cut out than normal.

Hey, Zip-ties Rule. They're like 21st Century Duct-tape. I use them for all sorts of creative installs...

and, it is a Wal-Mart mod, after all.

hey, i liked the usb charger, i never saw one of those before that would go into the lighter. wonder how it would do during a period of rain. might not be too water friendly. i see the lighter has a boot around it to help. thanks for sharing.

Now that's some thrifty mods and great use of resources...thanks for sharing.

- I say...zip ties are the best fastening invention - EVER! What do you use S2T...gold laces??
- Also, whom-ever doesn't shop at "Wally-World" raise their hand...yeah, I thought so (minority vote)...
