My similar question is, how can a Classic be less money ($200.00) than a Streetglide?? OK the Streetglide is better looking, but bang for the buck, the Classic has more. Just the value of the Tourpack alone. Am I wrong here?

As the man said. SALES. I will sell 14-15 ULTRAS before selling a Road Glide. They are really great bikes and handle better than the Ultra and get a bit better fuel milage.Also dont have to worry about high speed wobbles with the RG because of the aerodynamics of the fairing. But there is quite nothing like seeing the famed batwing coming down the road saying"TOP OF THE LINE AND FLAGSHIP OF THE FLEET". Personally I wouldnt ride anything else.

I love the Road Glide!!! I almost bought one, but the wifey road the UC and it was over after that.

 

A little birdie told me that they've recently acquired land nearby and they're getting ready to build a new facility (rumor has it that it may actually rival the square footage of American Eagle).

I'm pretty sure I'm helping to finance that project....

 

Buy the bike that calls you. My riding buddies couldn't believe I'd go foran RG. Me, I couldn't be happier with my choice. Who actually cares about a few hundred bucks. Buy the bike you'll love.

if a dealer sells 14 to 15 Ultras to one Roadie...what is your resale value going to be and how hard will it be to unload it?

 

Havinga largefairing mounted directly to the forks is not a particularly good design. The forks are having to fully support the weight of the fairing and in windy conditions, you end up fighting the force of the wind to keep the front wheel stable. The weight of the fairing also impacts slow speed turning. Once you get accustomed to it, it may not seem like a big deal but if you get a chance to do a back-to-back test ride of an Ultra and Glide, you'll be amazed at the difference. I was close to pulling the trigger on an Ultra not too long ago but nixed the idea after doing such a demo.

The Glide's fairing was wind-tunnel designed. The Ultra's? Not so much. (But the batwing definitely looks classy.)
