Default Floorboard brackets, yet again...

I just today raised my floorboards so high my outer primary is making contact with the stock brackets when I hit bumps in the road. I was thinking about either putting a couple washers between the frame and bracket or even washers to raise the engine under the front motor mount. Been a while since I messed with the motor mount so not sure how feasible that would be.

I considered the floorboard extensions but seems that will put me back in the same situation of scraping the bottom rear edge of the floorboard. Thoughts????

I live in the mountains and can't help but ride hard. I throw the Road King around like people ride sport bikes so need the clearance. Actually none of my friends can keep up with me and some even get pissed but I would just as soon run alone. I learned long ago that you can't become a better rider by not pushing the envelope. It is how I get my thrills.

Gotta wonder if you would rather ride alone...Why do you ride with others you can dust?

Thanks and after reading a few pages of that post I may have come across a suggestion I previously turned my nose up at; forward controls. I saw someone raise this question once before on a touring bike and thought to myself why would someone do that. Sure would like to see a bagger with them so I guess that means another thread.

To answer your question I have one guy I ride with regularly, several times a week usually. He knows I will slow down in the straights and wait for him. When I rode dirt bikes like an animal with its tail on fire I rode alone so a non issue for me. Would just be nice to have someone around for not if but when I go down. Can't help it or get it out of my system or making excuses. It is what it is.

If you want to continue to ride aggressively I would consider a good true air ride in the rear with push button control. That way you can raise the bike on the fly to gain extra clearance.
for the engine you only have 3 options, Washers to push out the boards, extensions for the boards or lower the boards down some.
I live on a mountain myself and ride aggressively. I only have 2 friends that will ride with when I want to have some fun.The rest I don't trust enough.
This is just ideas mind you.

Those are great ideas and something I considered but sounds mighty expensive (the air ride). Just came across a tab I had open (one of over 80) and remembered Banana Boards. I wonder if they might do the trick as they appear much slimmer in the rear than my Willie G insert boards. I know I have seen them on one bike on the forum. Here is the link. Oh yeah, plus they look bad a$$!!!
