Default 2000 Road King Stock Bars Question

Any RK riders in the 6'3" 300lb area use stock bars and was it necessary to change them for better comfort?
I read a lot that shorter riders are changing them so the stretch isnt so bad, but what do you bigger guys think?
I get my bike in a month and would like to figure this one out so I dont lose any precious riding time.

I still have the stock bars but I am looking at changing them outas people tell me I can be more comfortable. Also getting the seat redone.

I am 6' 240 and I changed to Heritage bars, I also have long arms 37' sleeve. I wasn't so much changing due to reach, however I can see that with somebody having shorter reach than me. I change due to the pullback or hand position, hold both bars in your hands and you wil see how it feels for you, I found that the stock RK bars cause more shoulder and neck discomfort. Another benefit fo rme was that the Heritage bars have more rise, taller, so I can get my arms where I want them in when I reach for the grips. Lastly worth mentioning is that I also have a Corbin Classic Solo with a backrest which sits me further back and a little lower than the stock seat. Hope that helps, what helped me most was the HD parts guy holding both bars in his hands while I gripped both to judge for myself.

I have a Road King Custom with the factory beach bars. A lot of folks so not like them but I love them. The position and angle is very comfortable for me. I am 6'2" and around 285. I have had 1 lower back surgery 15 years agio and these bars are the right fir for me.

Pre-06 WideGlide bars work great, feel good, and all cables & wiring work fine. THis is true for both RK's & RG's. I got the idea from a friend who has a RK & wanted to try it. Now I've had them on both my RG's.

I have a rk custom with stock bars. They feel great, great riding position. However, to get the look I wantI am going to a 16" ape...surely wont be as comfortable...and don't call me shirley. I am 6'2" and weigh all of a meager 350lbs. Stripped naked (visual). I love my bike and have not NEEDED to change anything to be more comfy for the ride, but at a point, comfort lends way to a "LOOK", and I know what I am looking for-Travis

6'1" 225lbs. 07 Road King. The stock bars were terrible for me, always made my neck hurt. I installed a chrome set of Heritage bars that were only $59.00. Probably the best money I have spent on the bike. No need to change wiring or cables. I installed in less than an hour. They arevery comfortable to me. You can even push them forward like miniapes.

I havre a 06 Road King. I am 6" 3", 215. The stock bars caused a burning between my shoulder blades after riding for a while. I replaced them with a set of 31 1/2" Burley Beach Bars. Love em! Comfortable, and look good.

6'4" 200 here. I have the stock bars and I have no comfort issues. Of course I haven't compaired them to any others. I do like the look of the beach bars though.
