Default '12 RKC - Rear Brake Squeak

My bike only has 1600 miles and I thought the squeak would go away once the pads got some wear, but it's still there.

Should I give the pads more time to break-in or is this something I should have the dealer take care of now? The noise is annoying.

Thanks!

You need some disc brake anti-squeak lube between the pads and the pistons.

The rotor could be glazed also. A Scotch-Brite pad can take care of that.

it's a brand new bike - let the dealer worry about it under warantee. fwiw both my 2010 and 2012 brakes squeek. i'm letting the dealer worry about mine until the warantee is up, then lyndal pads go in

Did your dealer fix it? They told me they fixed mine, next day squealing again.

+1.

I swapped out my rear brake pads and didn't use the anti-squeek.
Squeeked really bad. Especially when the bike had slowed down to the point it was just about stopped.

Removed the pads, applied the anti-squeek like I should have at first, and re-installed. No more squeek

Good luck

Dealer has had mine twice. Each time supposedly fixed. Ha! My wife can hear me coming for a couple of blocks away.
