Default Fork Lowers vs. Engine Guard Lowers

Disclaimer: I'm thinking of one or both of these options. Please, I don't need 'that guy' replying with, "if you're going to ride a motorcycle, it's going to be windy." I'm just trying to do a little homework here before I fork over some more $$$$.

Pros and Cons to each. I know the engine guard lowers are more expensive and they allow for future mods for speakers or more storage. Any others?

Brand/Company suggestions?

Can both be mounted at the same time or is there not enough clearance-Clarence?

Also, Pics of your setup would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Currently running stock lowers with vent doors on my Ultra and hope to add JES Accents (or something like that) fork mount wind deflectors by next winter

JES is the only company of fork deflectors that will work with the Fairing Lowers:

I'm a wimp too:
I like my lowers because when riding 70 mph in a head wind my feet aren't trying to blow off the boards and my jeans aren't being blown up.

I have the vented ones and they work well, close the vent below 60 degrees to stay a little warmer.
Close the vents on wet highway and your legs stay dry.
