Default Stoplights - Neutral or Clutch?

I see lots of folks in neutral at light, but I've chosen to go with the clutch. I cring everytime I put my EGC in first when stopped. I know HD's clunk, but I think I'd rather just keep it in gear as much as possible. Your experiences?

I always leave my bike in first at a stoplight or a stop sign. The main reason is to give my self an out. It might not seem like much time is wasted down shifting in an emergency but I rather not chance it.

Depends if its just turned red or maybe getting close to green. Usually try to slow up way back and roll up there and never stop if I can work it out.

If it's a simple intersection ... clutch.

If it's a busy intersection with turn arrows in each direction ... neutral.

... it just depends how long I think I will have to wait for a green light.

Take an MSF course.

1st gear, left hand clutch, left foot down, right hand brake and/or gas, right foot on brake eyes on the mirrors.

Exactly. Taught us this in MSF course many years ago. At a light, an eye on your mirror, be prepared to escape.
