Hmmmm, I work with aluminum, brass and copper, some nylon, teflon and rexolite. I need to track this stuff down.

There was a guy on a car forum that I used to be a member of that made polyurethane shifter bushings. Good quality stuff. I bet he, or anyone else could make these out of the same material.

Teflon is a plastic.
Being a machinist I have worked with a varity of plastics.I think I would try making them out of Delrin,Turcite or any harder plastic.Even a type of bronze may work.
