Default Harley Shock Air Pump

I don't want to sound like an idiot, but I bought a new one from the dealer yesterday. I tried using it today ad it won't pump air into the shocks. Screw the cap on and pump it right? well, it won't put air in it. I tried it on a bicycle and it won't pump air in there either. Am I doing something wrong? If I hold it in my hand and pump it, I can feel air coming out.

The valve on the hose has to be screwed onto the nipple on the shock.

And make sure that the knurled screw fitting on the end of the barrel that the plunger goes thru is also tight.

UPDATE - I screwed it on a fully aired up bike tire. As soon as it is fully screwed on all the air leaks from the tire. I think it must be the release valve stuck open. I will return it tomorrow.

Cool

Yea, nothing like the correct tool for the job. Seems like another H-D accessory rip-off but the thing really works well. If you've got a Touring bike and still have the air shocks you really need one of these pumps.

I just picked up a RK yesterday, and still getting used to everything. But will a standard bicycle pump work? I really don't feel like spending another 50 bucks.

Yes, I bought one at Walmart that works just fine. It's a small one that bicycle riders can carry on their bike. Less than $20 if I remember right.
