Default To luggage rack or not to luggage rack

I have a question that needs differing opinions. I ride a 06 Road King Classic and am going to replace the stock seat this week and purchase a Mustang seat. I ride 100% solo as my wife just will not ride on a bike LOL. Since i am going to ride solo do you think i should get a solo seat with backrest and maybe a luggage rack where the passenger seat would be? Or should i go ahead and spend the extra money and get the rear seat also with a backrest in the event the wife may ride? Do you folks think the bike looks ok without a rear seat? I go on trips so the luggage rack would come in handy but i don't want to ruin the looks of the bike. Any help with opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Tough question as I like the solo look all the way around, however, I would go the back seat option to be able to put luggage/bags on.........for when I ride, I ride distances.

Practical FIRST with me with a harmonious blend of looks.

Get both. I have the Mustang solo seat with a passenger pad and a Motherwell rack that will fit behind the Mustang seat just like their pad. That way you have the best of both worlds.

Get both and just don't mount the rear pillion and rack/sissy bar untilyou're going on a trip, then they're awesome for strapping gear onto so your fender doesn't get thrashed. I love the solo look generally, but for atrip you do need to carry some stuff.

Here's how I did it: Mustang solo w/ rear passenger pillon and HD solo detachable luggage rack. Second pic is of the Motherwell rack, but I found it to be a little flimsy, so I replaced it with the HD rack.
