I hate to burst your bubble, but it seems you already have faced reality... you have bought a depreciating asset.

If you bought a a chevy of the same year and price you'd be in the same boat.

Don't get me wrong, I love my EG, I paid 10,500 for it and droped about 3 grand into it, and I know I'm upside down on it. Not by much but since I hold onto bikes forever I figure over 15 years I'll have made a good purchase.

I paid 6800 for my Kawi in 03, got about 600 into extras and it's worth about 4 grand now. Many of the guys who have the same Kawi I have part them out because it's worth more in parts than it is as a running rolling bike. Especially if they have dropped big coin on titanium exhausts, exotic wheels, etc.

I bought the same bike back in May with 5K miles. I paid $15,500 which was Blue Book at the time, so it sounds like the price is in the ball park.

i have a 03 Heritge i bought new for a total of 22,000, incl, taes.
I just checked mine and with some of the xtras it listed, mileage and condition it is only booked at 12,800.
That is Complete bullsh!t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought they held thier value? so over 4 years as of this July, I have lost $9,200.00.

I even put 2,000.00 down and financed the rest.
I still owe 9895 on it, payoff the begining of next year, but i wouldof thought it would of been worth around 17,000.

wtf

$22,000.00 for a Heritage ?????[sm=confused06.gif]Ouch.........

yeah, $22,000.0 for a heritage. alot of extra chrome on it from the dealer already, 100 anniv edition, pearl white paint, taxes, title BLAH BLAH BLAH...
I just thought they held thier value better but i guess the value starts going back up after certain years od having them like anything else. When they become Antiques they'll be worth what we paid...LOL

This is why you never buy a brand new bike off the showroom floor. Buy Used.

Check the VIN#. It might have a rebuilt title as well.
