I have the RUSH slash-up like you but with the 2" baffle. I like them just the way they are. They sound great when you crack the throttle, but quiet down on the highway at cruise. I would like to hear the 1.75" just out of curiosity. Minecame with the 2.50” baffles by mistake from the factory. When I received the 2” baffle replacements I was surprised at the difference between the two.

Is it louder with a bigger baffle or smaller?

For the Rush it's like this. The 1.50's are quiet and the 2.50's being the loudest. I love my Rush Mufflers.

I started with the Rush 1.75" and have now downsized to the 1.50".
They are much louder than stock. I've tried repacking the baffles
and that seemed to make it louder, gave it a popping beat instead of the rumble.
Listen to them on a comparable build. Mine is 95", 26G, Big Boyz heads and PCIII.
Runs great but coming up through the gears is loud.

I have the SE touring mufflers for the 2007 bike and they are perfect. Not too loud and not too quiet. I thinkthese are perfect. Have you ever tried ear plugs when you go on a long trip, that is best and keeps the wind from damaging your hearing too. The constant wind blowing over your ears has been found to cause hearing damage as well.

The newer version of the SE's are not loud at all. They still give you a little more lower rumble and are not much louder than stock.

I have the Rinehart slip ons, and once up to speed I can hardly hear my pipes unless I twist the throttle. I've even wondered if they were loud enough, however on take off and if you really twist the throttle there is plenty of lower rumble.
I have to agree with this. I have never felt my pipes were too loud out on the road. But you sure can hear them when you twist the grip.

I've got the Rush 2.25's with fulsak tru duals. The wind is louder than the pipes at cruising speed. They do bark when you get on it. I've only heard what they sound like from the seat, but my buddy says they sound good.

Hey Billybob, I had the Harley Touring Mufflers added to my '06 Classic when I did the Stage 1 kit. I had some engine work done last year and added the Rush 1.75's. They sound great, but after two longish (2000 miles) trips, I had to put the HTM's back on. For my taste, the Rushes were just too loud, even with earplugs. I did a late fall color tour of Michigan(~800 miles) and I think that the HTM's are just right. YMMV. Good Luck!!
