Forgot to close my saddlebag ... again.
#22
I have never done with the a saddlebag lid. But seem to have a habit of not checking the tourpak. But I can reach back and secure the font latch without looking. That gets me to my next stop. Lately I have tried to get into the habit of locking all my bags, so this doesn't happen. There are guys in our group that occasionaly dont latch the lid properly, but havent seen one fly open.

This has happened to me a few times where I forgot to close my saddlebag all the way before jumping on the bike and taking off. This time was because of a water stop.
We stopped and I got off my bike, opened the saddlebag and got a bottle of water out and put the lid back into position without closing it, I just laid the lid on top of the lower with out latching it. Maybe i thought that I wasn't going to finish the water and put the bottle back in the saddlebag but in either case I didn't and when I left, I jumped on the bike and went. It wasnt until 75 miles later that I reached down (out of habit) to check the lids and found one loose. I have done this enough times now that I can get the tabs set and the latched pushed down. but still, I was lucky and I didn't loose anything and the lid never actually opened all the way and found itself flopping around in the wind and the bumps.
