Default 2013sg rear brake ?

Just got new sg and it seems the rear brake is no where near effective as the one on my 2000 flht. Does it need time to break in? I feel that I couldn't lock the rear wheel if I wanted to, front breaks are as good as the old bike, just the backs are lacking.

I just moved up from a FXDF (Dyna). I was thinking the brakes on my 13 SG were a little too touchy. I can lock up the rear easy peasy.

Just start using it brother. Mine was the same and I had the same concerns as you. Many other threads have been posted about it as well. It just needs a little break-in. In a few hundred miles you'll finally get the kind of braking force you're looking for.

My 2013 RK had no rear brake until about 250-300 miles. I tried to "ride the brake" for awhile and then it seemed to seat in and now works great.

I put Lyndall pads on my Road King and now have to be very careful using the rear or it will lock up. Hopefully yours will break in though.

Thumbs up

Thank to all, had lyndalls on the flht and loved them, but the idea of changing pads on a brand new bike kinda sucks , hopefully they will break in, will just be carefull for awhile.
