Default rinehart 4" slip without tune?

Guys I got the rinehart slip ons because their ad says you can do just the slip ons and dont have to change out the air cleaner and add a tune.

The issue is now that I have ran them for about 300 miles I have noticed the front of the slip on is brown in color like a light tan....is this the start of blueing and I am running to lean?

I dont mind having to get a air cleaner but I am ok with the stock, I got the pipes just for the extra sound. I dont need more power or anything that required tons of HP or torque.

What is the best cheapest way for me to make sure I am not ruining the bike. Should I just buck up and pay for a shop to dyno it and have a tune put in it? It seems wasteful to me if I am not looking for power.

I ran my Rhineharts with a set of Fl-Xieds for 2 years with no issue. Cheap way to add a little extra fuel. Can get them from Nightrider.com

You don't "have to" get an air filter and/or tune with any slip ons.
They are mostly for getting a better sound out of your bike.
Not much performance to be gained though, until you finish with an A/C and tune.

The issue with the light tan at the front of the slip ons sounds like you might have a slight exhaust leak at the seam?

I have had Rinehart slip ons for close to two years on mine without any issues at all.
I just put the V&H Power Duals on at the end of Feb.

Next week, I'll finish it off with an air filter and tune.

But if all you wanted were the slip ons, nothing else "needs" to be done.

Ill check for a leak, I thought it may be that or the starting of blue.

I dont want anything besides a nice rumble, If i wanted speed and power I would have kept my sportbike.
