Here is a list. It's for newer bikes but should be good.

Is that list straight out of the service manual?

i go over every nut and bolt on both of my bikes pretty often, plus i wipe them down all the time and this puts my hands on everything, even the spokes. this is you life going down the road. i stand back and just look at them sometimes and have found loose stuff.

'Critical fasteners' means anything that might fail or fall off that would cause imminent and/or immediate harm to the rider, passenger, or others. IE: if your front axle nut was so loose it fell off allowing the axle to come completely out, you're going down in a BIG way.
All you need is some common sense.

I service and check my bike over regularly.
I had a new rear tire installed at the dealer recently, and they include a check on critical fasteners. They found one loose at the Trap Door, and told me about it.
Well, I guess I missed one!
