Cool Security FOB battery

Hey, just a reminder for all you guys that have bikes with the H-D security system. Please remember to replace your FOB battery in a timely manner. And PLEASE...remember to carry a spare battery with you. Even if you don't use/need the spare it could save you a lot of aggravation if someone you're with needs one.

Thanks for the reminder. What's the life expectancy on those batteries?

Some people say 1 year and others say 2 years. If you keep you FOB close to the bike when parked it could be sooner. I had one go bad in 4 months.

Good idea to practice entering your code incase battery dies on the road. I enter code each time I fire it up in the garage before roll out. Only way I can remember it without looking at cheat sheet.

Just replaced my batteries after two years. It was still working but thought it was time. Very easy replacement, just pop it open and put a new 2032 in. Just in case I do use my security code about once a month just for practice.

I just changed mine as a precaution before I head out for a trip. Tried moving bike in garage and alarm kept going off. Found I put new battery in upside down, damn old eyes.

Guys.. read your owners manuals.. Learn how to reset and program your own code into the bike. I know it's a PITA but if you know how to do it and know your code you will NEVER be left on the road because of a dead FOB battery.
