Modify or Stock??
This is my 5th Harley and I've modified exhaust and engine on every other one. The last being an '08 Heritage with the 96 ci engine. But with my '12 RoadGlide Ultra that 103 engine is sweeet; even if the exhaust note does sound a little feeble. I'm in Arkansas and there are no safety or emission checks so modification even radically is not a problem. I'm just hoping to hear from some of you that have went the modification route to see if you are happy or if any of you wish you had stayed stock?? I know the line about making myself happy; and I agree with that and I'm happy stock but just wondering if I would be happier if I modified??

I would think the modified 96" would have more performance than a stock 103". But if your happy, for now, ride it as is. after spending 20k I wouldn't want to put more $$$$$ into the bike. Me I would just make it breath a little easier and add an TMax auto tune. But thats me. Today I showed the wife pictures of new bikes. Yes new is nice but I don't like payment. I could do a 95" big bore and pull away from any stock bike. Already have heads and cam in the bike, at 88" i get 95 ft lbs to the wheel. Moral of the story depends on what YOU want from the bike. BTW the Roadglide Ultra is what I was showing the wife, nice bike.

I will prob have to eventually open it up so it can breath a little better but I don't ride super aggressively; I got that out of my system back when I rode sport bikes. But I'm really enjoying this bike a lot. I've had a couple Heritages; RoadKing, WideGlide and a ElectraGlide Standard. This bike is just right for what I need at this point. The fairing being attached to the frame instead of the fork really makes it handle well whether I'm horsing it around in the parking lot or leaning into some twisties.

103 is sweet indeed but it could benefit from a nice 2 into 1 exhaust, nice intake, tuner what they call a stage 1, also, cam work. That should do it, the better needs to be waken up, cams w do the job. I did exhaust, intake, tuner and I'm still not happy, need more power/torque but thats just me~ Enjoy

well no matter what the bikes are designed to meet epa standards and emissinos and stuff, they cant breathe and run hot stock.
I would say at least add a good air kit to increase the amount of air intake and pipes for air out and a good tune to adjust the bikes ecm to rum properly with the new set up so that you get a better ride with a little more (5 10 15hp) is common, otherwise if your happy why change it?
