I took that mother grubbin eye sore of an antenna off the back of my clean looking bike and replaced it with a hidden fairing antenna. Does it get as good of reception as the stock antenna? Nope. Does it look much better? Yep. Do I miss the reception? Nope, the radio stations blow anyway I listen to my IPOD 90% of the time and the other 10% I use Slacker, Pandora, or Tune-In on my phone.

Cool

Hell, it's behind me. It's not like I have to look at it all ride long. Got the Harley-Davidson XM Radio package during my local dealers 20% off sale. Seldom have reason to use the rear antenna.

I have the HD hidden amped antenna. The reception is about the same. I live in a populated county so reception is good. I don't listen to the radio enough. I only want it so I have the weather band. I much rather have a smooth clean look than an antenna hanging out back there. It's purely looks why I did the hidden antenna.

Did my antenna with side cutters ( snip off desired lenght) then super glue black vacume cap on. Chopped mine down to 7 inch!

I bought an 8" black metal whip off eBay for $10. If you get one that is multifit for Ford the threads are correct. Works just as good as the full whip and doesn't stick out like a rubber duck one.

The PO of my street glide took a multifit antenna and strap tied it to the other wire bundles in the fairing. A bit strange but it seems to work fine.

Just like the 2 other guys did, I cut mine to the length I wanted and put a vacuum cap on it works great zero cost and takes longer to find a cap and get the snips out of the tool box than to complete the job.
