Question SG vs. Fatboy Lo...

I was talking to a friend recently about getting a SG. I have a Fatboy Lo right now. He said that he loves his SG for long rides, but around town it can be a pain because of the added weight. He misses his Fatboy. The weight increase doesnt seem to be that much. Ive never ridin a SG so I really dont know. Anyone have some insight here?

Have a 2012 FatBoy Lo. Great bike, wouldn't get rid of it for anything.....but. Got tired of asking my Touring bike friends to carry my coat, hat spare gloves etc...so. I got a Street Glide to share the garage with the FatBoy. Wow!!! Does the Street Glide handle nice. It makes the FatBoy seem like a garden tractor. Yes, it's heavier. But it is so nimble you can't believe it's a "Touring" bike. They're both great bikes. They both have their niche. If you can keep the FatBoy AND get the SG too....best of both worlds.

Nothing like a touring bike and once you are moving the weight difference is negligible.

I went from a Heritage to the SG. there is nothing I miss about the Heritage. I think the SG handles better. No comparison in the ride to me. Long rides or short, I'll take the SG over the Heritage every time.

I dont have a FB low and never owned one, but my o4 orange FB was lowered and probably similar in weight, handling, etc. To me, it was never a concern or question, the SG was easy cheesy to ride and manuver when parking etc. I always grabbed the SG keys when going out, long or short rides. The FB eventually felt more like bar hopper.

I had a hard time picking between the SG and the Limited. In the end i choosen the Limited. If i could, I'd have a SG share the garage with it. Only had the Heritage for 8 month. Don't miss it at all!

OP Have you taken your friends SG for a ride yet? Or go to a demo drive and find out why it's the best selling bike they have. You'll Love the Sg!

They have demos to try out. Let us know how much you love it after you ride one.

SG wins in my book, but its your money. Go rent one or borrow his IMHO.
