commander 11 scalloping front tire
Hey,
I have a set of commanders on my SG. with about 11k mi on them, they look good but I've noticed the front tire started to scallop. Nothing really noticeable until I started to lean into turns then you could hear it (mostly banking left). I ran my hand over the tire and can feel it.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Thanks.

This happened to me when i switched from a stock tire to metzler i was still using the air presure listed in manual and the tires should have been at a higher pressure .
Make sure you have an acurate gage don't use a cheapy airgage and keep your tires at the recomended max presure on the tire side wall. check cold presure frequently .

I think this is just some more of the commander II icing on the cake. Many of us (myself included) bought in to
The higher mileage claims that came with this tire. I suffered through 300 miles with mine, now it's a garage ornament. I think the truth is gonna come out about this 'miracle tire' slowly but surely......

I have 8,000 miles on my front Commander II with no signs of cupping or other abnormal wear. Been running it at 40 psi this whole time. Rear was replaced due to a nail, so it only has about 6k on it. Still has lots of tread left also.
It's a shame that some of you seem to have gotten a bad set of tires. Mine have been everything they claim, and then some. I will buy them again based on my experience with the three I've had.

+1 After cupping the original Dunlops on a Honda VTX, I took people's advice and started running 38 front / 40 rear (psi) and haven't had a problem since. Got 20k out of my original Road Glide tires with no cupping at all.
