Default Help! Loose saddle bag latches

Is there a way to tighten up the latches? If I don't lock them, the latch pops up. Is there an adjustment for this?

Under the latch are two small tabs, bend them up slightly, it works great

Prolly find that the cloth strap isn't folding properly and catching when you close the lid. Try folding by hand as you close the lid.

Worked for me.

Thanks, it's not the strap.

Could be the little spring that sits inside the latch. I had a latch that popped up and when I looked, the spring had broken. Harley sells them (the spring) for a couple of bucks. Easy to replace and fixed the problem.

Let's not throw those 4 letter words around like that, "easy". Ha!

That was going to be my suggestion, they are not too bad to replace. Oil up the hinges and bar while you have it apart, makes um feel brand new.

You know, now that you mention it...LOL..it was a b*tch to get one part freed up. My service manual is in the garage and I'm too lazy to go get it. But there was a rod that had one end clamped and that had to be freed up. Almost put a screwdriver blade thru my finger. So erase the 'easy' word from my post
