Whats the problem with stock RK handlebars?

I agree
I just bought the RK..a couple weeks ago...2009. I rode it home first ride having never rode a RK before. I have had 7 other Harleys in 30 years. On the trip home...2.8 miles I said to my self these bars are to low! I almost felt like I was riding a sport cycle leaning forward and all that! I thought it was in my head and figures I'd get used to it....Then I discovered this site that a lot of people agreed with me! That's all I needed to do the research on what others were doing. I went with the Heritage stlye bars easy change out that I could do and rather cheap. ( bought a pair on here). I'm sold.... they are what I needed...I can now rest against the drivers rest and all is good for me.
Just the story of what really happened!

OK.. I must not be that sharp. I have read 7 pages looking for a definitive answer for my bars.
2006 Road King / cable control EFI.
I'm looking for a touch more pull-back and I don't want to change cables or extend wiring.
Thinking "Heratige Style Bars" is there a part number that you all are using ? Most of the posts seem to be for fly by wire bikes.
HD parts webpage shows no Heritage style bars for an 2006.
I'm confused

I have seen many threads about owners swapping stock bars out for heritage style bars. What is the gripe on the stock bars? Maybe I have the right height and reach, but I am OK with the stock bars. I do get wrist cramp rather quickly when not using cruise control. But other than that i am Ok with stock. What problems are you all experiencing?

In my experience with 2 Roadkings, the stock handleabars are just not comfortable.
They are angled inward, causing my hands to be bent awkward. I replaced both on my previous 06 and now on my 01 with the police style heritage classic bars. No regrets.
The angle and hand position is just better compared to stock. But that's just me
