Default Road Tech Zumo 665 question

I have a question about the HD GPS navigator. If you use the Zumo 665 can you bluetooth the XM portion or does it have to be hard wired. I'm understanding the GPS portion will bluetooth but I'm unclear about XM. Thanks in advance.

You will prolly get a better answer (I own a Zumo 660) but anything you want to know can be learned at www.zumoforums.com

While there you can learn how to download all the HD dealerships in North America to your PC and transfer them to your Zumo. Very handy to have. Often times a buddy and I will go for a ride with no other destination than a dealership we have not been to.

Long124. I have a Sony head unit on my bike that has bluetooth and I have the 665. I can stream bluetooth from the GPS for turn by turn directions and music to my sony when I put it in bluetooth audio mode so yes as long as you have a device that supports A2DP (bluetooth topology) then you can stream it...

Ok...didn't think of that I have the Alpine iDA-X305S head unit and it has bluetooth so that may be an option. I have a bluetooth headset which I use to communicate (passenger, music and phone capable) but wanted to know if I can stream the XM to the headset....and it appears as tho I can.

So what do I have messed up? I stream xm to my Sony head unit, but when directions come on, the radio is silenced, but you cannot hear the directions.

Had the same problem using the stock set up, I had to increase the volume while the directions were being spoken.

I installed the Harley Road Tech 665 on my 2010 Ultra Limited and I also added the Navigation Interface Module and harness. First off,... yes it will be hard wired into your factory HK head unit. There will be a y harness that you will put in behind the fairing and then route around to the front aux input on your HK head unit. To hear the MP3 and XM from your 665 you will have to be plugged into the front of the aux port and have it on aux. I have also noticed that the volume when using the xm radio function is appx 25% lower than using a CD or FM radio. I brought this up to my local dealership, and it appears that its an "normal" issue when using the xm. I can barley hear my xm at highway speeds, while the navigation commands come through loud and clear. I'm extremely disappointed with the sound volume when using the xm feature. I even purchased the NIM harness in hopes that eveything would intergrate perfectly. Harley offers no solutions to this problem. It's pretty upsetting considering the 665 with harness was almost $1,000.
