If someone side swipes you or you side swipe something, I think you got bigger things to worry about than your bags/rails.
Thanks, and yea - I was thinking more about "casual" impact

I'm thinking about those style saddlebag rails on regular hard-bag Road King. Think it might give it a bit of an "old school" look and protect me from backing into fire hydrants and stuff like that.
I have a RKC much like in your photo. I took the leather bags off and replaced them with hard bags. I have the nostalgic bag guards just like yours, however they won fit the hard bags. They are laying on the shelf, anyone want them? I would like to get some of the nostalgic bag guards for the hard bags. Someday.

The HD P/N for the Nostalgic Saddlebag Guard Rails that will fit my 2012 FLHR seems to be 91286-10

My observation of those bars on hard bags is they must be very difficult to install properly - most if not all that I've seen are not level with the bags.

Yea, just took a look. Most of them are for 2008 and older, or Chinese knock-offs. Timing is everything I guess.
