I have had the primary cover off a few times, most recently as yesterday. I do not use locktite on those screw/bolts and always torque to specs. Too many other riders on this forum have over torqued their derby cover and primary cover screws and stripped them. So far on two bikes, I have not had any come loose or cause leaks.

I've had my derby cover off a couple times already since I've had this bike. Just recently to change the oil. The bolts originally had that yellow loctite that the MOCO puts on. Cleaned that out the first time I had the cover off and installed the bolts with never seize. Haven't used a torque wrench yet on them. I tighten them wrist tight. You can feel the gasket flattening as you go around tightening a little each time. When my torx starts to feel like it's going to slip out of the head I figure that's tight enough. No leaks.

This. I actually "lubricate" the threads with a tiny dab of anti-seize so the little buggers don't weld themselves to the aluminum housing, and torque them to 75 inch pounds.
