Default Did I mess something up?

I picked up a "Buehler Better Lever" to replace my stock lever that went south. In the process if removing the old lever I had to move the lever to the left if possible to get at a spot to cut.. I thought it was loose enough to move it on the shaft. Now, I'm not sure it was.. I did move it but may have moved the shaft in the process. Anybody have any idea what I may have done if the shaft was forced to the left?
I got the old one off and now it doesn't seem to want to shift.. My neutral light is still when I move the lever..

Yeah, just roll the bike back and forth a little. I don't see how you could have messed anything up.

Oh.. sorry. The shift lever on the tranny ..
Did I mess something up in the tranny by forcing it? It didn't take much force to move it..
