My '11 RKC has a tough rear valve stem location too.
I bought the "Slime Digital Air Compressor" that screws straight down onto the valve stem. It is a small unit, plugs into the battery pigtail, and the digital display shows tire pressure when you screw it on. Program it for what PSI you want, and it delivers, pretty accurate.
I also have the Topeak 90 Connector, keep it on the bike just in case. I use the HD Air Gauge with the stainless hose for regular checks.
You are right, what a pain. Much better design needed.

I put these http://www.motorcycleanchor.com/tire_valves/index.htm on my last tire change and they are great. I fail to see why they would be a problem with balancing. That just doesn't make sense. I did use the puncture proof/balancer Ride-On this time too though. I'm well pleased with both products.

Thanks for all the replies, and let me restate, I am looking for "angled metal valve stems", I already have the extension hose, and a Slime mini compressor. What I am trying to get away from is having to lay down (on the garage floor, or gas station parking lot) to air my tires. Remember, I have an Ultra, and if you can put air in my tires without having to lay down, or put the bike on a life, you are more than welcome to show me how.
Thanks again,
David

If the angled valve stems are installed when a tire is changed, the balance job includes the weight of the new valve stems, which now are just part of the wheel so they should be "invisible" from a balance standpoint. If, on the other hand, you install them by just breaking the bead on one side and then air up the same tire in the same orientation to the rim, a slight change might be noticed.
