Another thing to think about... get rid of those 28 spoke rims. They are a huge pain in the rear to live with. As you found, checking pressure and adding air is not fun. They are known for being very difficult to clean. Brake dust sticks like glue and traps moisture. Soon after, you get chrome peeling from the spokes. Once it starts, there's no stopping it
I picked up a set of 2011 Streetglide (18inch front) take-off wheels I found on Craigslist for my Limited. When I needed new tires, I had the new rims installed. See my pic below. They're a direct bolt up. Much better... easier to clean, and adding air is much less painful. Although I almost wish I'd have held out for the 2014 and up 19inch Streetglide five-spoke style. At the time, those were nearly double the asking prices.

I have the cast, 28 spoke wheels and the front isn't great either with it's limited clearance. I needed to go to metal valve stems for my Garmin TPMS and this is what I used:
