I went CVO style. You can see it in my sig pic. So as not to lose bag space, the 300 watt amp is located under the seat. It's naturally vented, so no overheating issues. I can hear it clearly rolling at 80 mph.

Vance Hinds

New company? Never heard of 'em. Maybe Vance is the name of the guy who sold you the speakers?

Can you pop your seat off and snap a pic of the amp? I'm curious how you fit it under there.

Here are pictures of the amp and the bike from different angles showing the speakers.

Or I just put a damn fairing on the bike and call it day!
FWIW, the Cycle Sounds bag lids do not "aim" the speakers at the rider in the way that the HD CVO units do. These rear speakers are already challenged by virtue of their position behind you-to be heard at speed. So, you might look at getting color matched lids from HD, then the Biketronics BT479 kit that replaces stock speakers with HTI 6X9's. Just sayin...

These 6x9s are more powerful and much clearer (they actually carry bass) than the MOCO provided 5x7s. No need to "aim" and there is no challenge to hearing them. As a matter of fact, I had to turn up the gain on the front speakers or the rear drowns them out at speed. As previously stated, clear sounds at 80 MPH....in stereo.

How did you wire your amp to the bike? Direct to battery? Tie into harness? I'm getting ready to tackle this project and would love to know the best way to wire the amp. Thanks!

Subscribed. I'm considering this on my 07 Road King. I also lusted after the 2013 CVO but just can't part with my 07. I have done tons of performance upgrades and have the bike just like I want it. I just did a 19 hour 1180 mile ride to Plainview Nebraska for my uncles funeral and realized on this trip just how much the tunes help pass the miles. I used my Garmin Zumo 665 satellite radio with ear buds but after a few hours the ear buds were killing my ears. I ride with a full face helmet.

You guys that have built a system, what do you use for controls ? Adapt handlebar controls from a CVO bike or go aftermarket ?

I can't believe that amp fits under your seat ! I would also like that option to save saddlebag space.

I would gladly pay $1500.00 to build a nice system, much cheaper than the CVO!

Eagerly watching this thread for my winter project !

I also have 2012 Road King. Took the seat off and can't see how I could fit an amp under there. Did you put the amp on top of the engine control module? I've got a big harnes/clip attached to it that sticks up quite high. Stock seat would squish amp for sure.

Positive and negative directly to the battery. There is a third wire on the amp that I hooked into an accesory wire so that the amp is only powered when the ignition switch is on.

I was able to move my ECM down to the right side of the battery (it took a little work) to make room for the amp. The amp sits neatly in the ECMs place.
