My wife and I have been going to the Spring and Fall rallys since '08. It is not a huge rally like Daytona or Sturgis, but from mid-week through Saturday it is a fair turnout. several years ago the City of Myrtle Beach tried to put a stop to bike rallys because of trouble makers. Right after the Spring rally is the crotch rocket rally and that is where the problem comes in. Long story short, their attempts failed and just pissed everyone off, including the business owners of Myrtle Beach. So now, most everything is north and south of the city limits. Barefoot Landing to north is where you find most of the vendors like J&P Cycles, Kuryakyn, etc....Murrells inlet is probably the most popular party location to the south. There is Suck, Bang, Blow, Beaver Bar, and Beaver Bar II. There is a heavy police presence there, but for the most part don't mess with people. Few vendors there also. You will find other bars dotted along the main drag and most will be packed. There is the Harley Dealer who usually has vendors as well. And of course there is always the beach to go to.
We usually stay at a place called the Palace which is a high-rise condo hotel. It has a covered parking garage, security, and is biker friendly. Prices run around $100 a night for a two bedroom, two bath condo with two balconies. It's older, built in the 70's, but hey we are only there to sleep.
Hope this helps out.

Been goin every year since 2007, would not miss it for anything. Best of both worlds, plenty of riding up and down the coast, vendors, bar scene. I'll be there as usual. I don't stay in town, I stay in a hotel right outside on Rt 501 for a little more peace and quiet when I want it.

Definitely go!!! I've been going for years. It's a good rally, again not like Daytona or Sturgis but still lots to do. I've been staying right on Ocean Blvd. Many of the hotels on Ocean Blvd are biker friendly and have great rates. I prefer the south end of Ocean Blvd. Even though the city officials may not be our biggest fans many of the businesses are and want us there. The rally is spread out all along the Grand Strand from Murrells Inlet on the south side all the way up to Shallotte NC where Beach House Harley Davidson is located and shares in the festivities.

You will not regret attending MBBW, I have been going since the mid-90's. I have seen an increase in police presence over the years, but they don't really bother you unless you 'ask' them to. Just be mindful of your throttle and you will enjoy your trip.

Southern area has Murrells Inlet (SBB, Beaver Bar, Spokes & Bones) Northern area, Little River (Swing Bridge Saloon, Capt. Poo's). I might be wrong but the Little River area seems more active after sundown. Vendor spaces are strung along HWY 17 with concentration at Barefoot Landing. Harley dealerships are
North and South.

Rooming accommodations are everywhere from houses, condos or motel rooms. You can go to MBBW web site and find rentals of all types or do a Google search for rentals in the area you like.

Lastly, sometimes it's nice just to sit, have a cold beer and people/bike watch!!

What to avoid? Myrtle beach. The way city council and the mayor has dissed bikers and pretty much run things outside of town I wouldn't drop a dime there.

If you guys come down for the rally, I'll be manning the HOG chapter table from around lunch until 2 pm at the main dealership in Surfside Beach. Come by and say hello.
