Question Lexan shield film tinting? Possible?

So I've an 09 EGS. Stock windshield, and a shorter one currently on the bike.

I've a plastics guy to shorten the screen.

My question is ; is there a film I can put on the screen to darken it?

Instead of buying a tinted or black screen, can I film it?

The above is not all entirely true.

Yes, standard glass window tint will not work on any kind of plastic.

However, 3-M (and a few other companies) make films for plastic headlights and tail lights. I've seen clear, smoked, red, and light blue. It's thicker than regular window tint, but it basically goes on the same way. I don't see why it couldn't be applied to the inside (or outside)of a windshield.

Here is a link for one brand to give you an idea:

You also have the "flex factor". IF you got it to stick, it would wrinkle once the shield flexed at 75mph or less.

Ahh Haa!! The old flex factor at 75 mph trick !!

I bet it might work if you only tint the bottom half of the windshield. Hmmm ...hello chief ?

I've painted them black. Make sure you paint the INSIDE(side that faces you) not the outside.
