Chain, gear, hydraulics - suggestions?
#2
Nothing "buds" like.better than seeing a pal spend his money.
1. Do you know what your bike's crank runout is? Critical tolerance for gear drive.
2. Had the cam chain tensioners been replaced earlier? 50K is a lot of miles on the originals, and the problem is the originals may have worn out to the point that your cam plate or oil pump was damaged.
3. What tuning product are you going to use to support the new cams?
4. What exhaust and intake are you running?
I could ask a lot more questions, but the bottom line is that unless you already have a tuning product, better than stock exhaust and intake, do the work yourself, and etc., you will spend a minimum of $800--1000--and llikely more.

Then get yourself a long drink and use 'Advanced Search' for 'tensioners' and select 'titles only'. It's all there. By the time you get fed up reading about cams, chain tensioners, gear drive, etc you should be able to make some decisions!
