Default Front tire for 2002 road king

Anyone got front tire suggestions for riding on grooved pavement? Current Dunlop seems to catch the grooves, feels unstable.

Ran the Dunlop E III last few years and quite satisfied. Just put on a set of Michelin Commander II's and only have a few hundred miles on them but love the way they handle. Many love the Metzeler 880 but the mileage reports have not been great. They just came out with an 888 that claims same riding characteristics with improved mileage. Can't go wrong with any of them. I hated the D402.

You're talking about pavement that runs vertical to your path? Hate that sh#t!! I've never considered different tires before and just assumed (from what friends have told me) that it didn't matter. I'll keep an eye on this post - maybe I'll learn something. Ride safe.

All the major tyre brands offer alternatives to the stock ones, we discuss them in here often enough! In alphabetical order Avon, Continental, Metzler, Michelin and Pirelli for starters. My preferred brand, in almost 40 years of riding Harleys, is Avon.

The trick is for the tread to be angled so it will not catch the grooves in the pavement. The stock tires have staggered tread that follows the circumference. That is what is grabbing the pavement.
