BUY '07 OR WAIT FOR '08? VOTE NOW!
So...I was at the dealer today and kicking around the idea replacing my '03 Ultra (which I no longer have) with an '07 Ultra. There have been many improvements in '07 as everyone knows. Then the dealer sprung this on me...."if you think the changes in '07 were big, then wait until you see what's in store for '08". Now what exactly does that mean? He couldn't...or wouldn't say. Nothing is for sure at this point, but there have been rumors. Now I know we go through this every year...and just like every other year there is talk about upcoming changes. Watercooled vs Non-watercooled, etc.. What I want to know is what you've heard. Also, for those of you with '07's, are you happy? Do you wish you waited? Are the problems with the '07's just hype? Let's hear it.

Go out and buy one tomorrow. You can keep talking yourself into waiting and waiting. Its kind of like a tv or stereo....they will change every 6 months...you can't keep up with technology. If I like the 08's ...I'll trade my 07 in.I dought the 08's will be much different from the 07's fromwhat I have gathered. 09's may be a different story. Go for it and don't think twice.

I have an '07 and if I were you I'd wait and get an '08 or maybe an '09
Reason being, I hate mine because:
1. it is so shiny
2. runs like a scalded ape
3. cruises 2 up at 90mph and more without breaking a sweat
4. stays in my pocket keeping me broke buying accessories
5. its always begging me to ride it
6. I lose sleep at night dreaming about it
7. It's the envy of scooters of the guys I ride with
8. my wife loves to ride it more than m.......well, scratch this one
9. in 5 minutes it goes from tourer to cruiser and back to tourer
10. it's rumble is something I've longed for in a cycle I haven't been able to find till now
11.my wife loves to ride it more.........ooops, already mentioned this

well that is funny you ask this because last year i bought my first Harley 45 days before the 07's were unvieled. I had asked the dealer if he expected any changes to the engine and he said he had no idea and they talk about it every year and most times there aren't any significant changes. So i figured if he knew he would tell me, so i bought the 06 rkc. I was a little disappointed when i saw the changes because i would have waited. But i would have to say i am very glad i bought my harley because i got the color i wanted Black and the model i wanted and who knows what color would be available to purchase when the new ones were out. I live in Vermont so the 6 speed transmission probably won't do much for me as i ride secondary roads 99% of the time. If they do come out with the liquid cooled it won't help me much either as overheating really isn't a problem here anyway.
So it really is realative to what is important to you, all i know is i was riding earlier than if i had waited. I actually was able to go to my first Americadein Lake George New York on a Harley with my wife and wouldn't have been able to do that if i had waited.
Good luck with your decision and remember you have to live with it.
I finally own a Harley and LIFE IS GOOD!!
