Mouse Pads Behind Speakers In Fairing -- It Really Works
I had my Reckless fairing apart this week and decided I would try the mouse pad behind the speaker suggestion.
The Polk MM691 6X9's and a PBR300X2 amp sounded great anyway but I thought I would try this just to see if it worked.
Purchased these extra large mouse pads from Office Depot and attached them with silicone adhesive. These are foam rubber, almost 1/4" thick. 13.3" X 13.3".

I can honestly say it really helps. The sound is quite a bit cleaner and crisper especially at higher levels. The bass is also better, cleaner with less vibration and distortion at higher levels. It just sounds better all the way around.
This is a easy, inexpensive mod that really works.

LOL!!!
Funny you say that.
I told my wife that I hoped I was not creating an invitation for mice to live in the fairing. Being that I had put two "mouse pads" in there.
