Clearview, LRS, Cee Baileys Question
I currently have a 6.5 Klock Werks and am not overly pleased with the results. The height is right, any taller and I'd be looking through it after riding awhile. I like the look and their quality is great, but the buffeting is pretty bad for me, I would like to try a recurve and was wondering out of these three companies, who's recurve and quality do you prefer for those who have tried them?

I have a 6.5" klockwerks. I liked it but wind was directly in my wife's face so I got a 14" clearview with recurve and vent. Now the wind goes well over the both of our heads! But it doesn't sound like you want to look through it. There is no distortion in the clearview and rainex can be used on it. I am 5'10" and my wife is 5'9"

I had a 17" Clearveiw on my RK [it replace the 21" that came with the bike], I was able to look over it and the wind was above my head. I just bought an 8" for my electra glide, because I have a 12" and I want to see over it and not through it. It should be in in the next week or so. I really like the Clearview, and the customer service is great. I also got it with the vent, they say that will help with buffeting.

I have had 2 LRS shields and very happy with both. The first was a 19" dark tint when I was still running just a shield and the flip greatly reduced buffeting and rain coming over the top stopped completely. Then put a 9" dark tint Flat Top when I added a Memphis Shades fairing and life is good. At just shy of 5' 10" I can see well over the shield (almost wish I had gone taller) but love the thing.

I have been using a 16" Clearview for the last 4 years and really like it. I can not say what is the best windscreen out there because I haven't used all of them. I look through the screen and I ordered it that way. Distortion is not an issue. FLTR bikes probably have more buffeting than others so I did a lot of homework before I picked a vendor. If you buy a tall enough windscreen and put a set of lowers on the bike, you will do all you can to eliminate buffeting. But, and I must say this, the vast majority of riders do not buy a windscreen that is high enough. Most opt for something in the 6" to 9" range because of the "cool" factor, and then are dissatisfied because they still have significant buffeting. A recurve windscreen will throw the air 3"-4" above the top edge of your windscreen @ 60 mph.,so you need to figure out ahead of time how high it needs to be to clear the top of your helmet. Clearview will cut it where it needs to be for your height. I do not know if the other guys will do that or not. Also, think twice about getting a dark, smoked windscreen, especially if you are going to be looking through the screen. At night time, you will be hosed. I stayed with a clear and I am very happy I did.
