"New" Road King in the house
Howdy folks,
Finally did it. Brought my new-to-me '97 Road King home last Thursday. Trailered it 120 miles home from the seller's house--man, that's a nerve-wracking experience. It passed Maryland inspection on Friday with flying colors so I was able to get tags and stickers. Drove it nearly 400 miles over the weekend. Cleaned the bugs off on Sunday pm.
LOVE IT! Runs, rides and sounds great. The Python pipes are not overly loud and have a nice low pitched rumble. Mustang seat could be more comfortable but will have to do for now (or my butt will have to get used to it). Love that fuel injection.
Btw, it had only 11,800 miles on it when I bought it--2,000 less than I originally thought.
Question: Seller called the color Emerald green. Is that the Harley name for that color?
Pardon the crappy pic. It was a hot, humid, hazy day and I had to use my daughter's camera that I'm not yet familiar with. Will post to gallery when I get better shots.

I believe this is your color for that year
Mystique Green Acrylic Lacquer Paint-Quart-1996-1999 - Year: 1996-1999
Great looking ride, good luck with it and enjoy the ride!

[sm=smiley20.gif] Great looking RK. Looks very well maintained. Congrats.
BTW - What part of the Eastern Sho' are you from ? I have relatives in Denton and friends in OC, Snow Hill and Selbyville, Del. We're heading to OC for Bike Week on Sept. 15.
