Default Burning oil

Have a 2012 Street Glide with 3,000 miles.

Has been using about 1 qt/1000mi since I got it.

Thought it would stop using oil when I got some miles on it, but still adding 1/2 qt every 450 miles.

On my last ride a friend said he saw blue smoke from my left exhaust when decelerating.

Took it to Harley. They checked compression (OK) Plugs (OK) and no excessive oil in air filter.

They marked my dipstick and told me to come back after driving 1,000 miles.

What do you think is going on?

Valve guides are leaking. When you let the throttle off it creates a lot of vacuum in the motor and its sucking the oil by the guides.

during deceleration and after starting when off for a while is usually valve guide seals

during accel usually oil control rings

leakdown and compression tests dont tell anything about the valve guide seals or oil control rings

as above, basic observation is problem with valve guides/seals or crack in head...the increased vacuum as decel will draw oil into the cylinder and burn it.
