Myrtle Beach Spring Rally
#22
Absolutely can be... I'm looking forward to it...I went to Sturgis last year, Laconia the year before, and travelled up the road an hour to hit Americade....less can be a good thing.
We had a 2nd house in Surfside Beach from 2001-2005, so we know the area well. I'll be able to enjoy myself instead of trying to figure out what is where...

We'll be there the 15th-19th. It's fairly local to us here in Hickory, NC. It's not as big as it used to be years ago since the "old money" tried to run us all off with the crazy anti-motorcycle regulations. It's still a nice rally overall. Anyone going should also plan on one day riding back up into NC to Shallotte. Beach House HD has a great store and it's a nice ride.....but don't forget to take the helmets so you can put them on at the NC state line.

I don't know about this year. I went when the helmet law BS was in effect. However I still had a good time, plenty of venders. At the time alot of the businesses told me that that the politics were really taking a toll on the revenue for them. Most of the restaurants/shops I went into took time to thank me for coming and they were sorry for the inconvenience of the helmet laws, etc. I really enjoyed MB more than Daytona. If possible I will be there!!

You probably know this, but Myrtle Beach is only one city. It is there where the ****** live.
So be sure not to spend any money there. Bikers are welcomed in North Myrtle Beach which is a city unto itself. Also, Garden City, Surfside Beach, and Murrells Inlet...all cool places south of MB.
Neither one of the HD shops are in Myrtle Beach city limits, so all good there. The HD shop on the south end is in Surfside Beach, the one on the north end is in North Myrtle Beach.
So come on down and enjoy the rally. You will have a good time.
And remember....**** on Myrtle Beach.

The last year I went was in 2010. Went in 08 & 09 also. That was before all the BS politics. Since I had the V-Rod at the time, it was pretty decent. Go from biker bar to biker bar, check out the many vendors that were still coming at that time, the chopper craze was still going strong so they had dealers all over. A trailer was stolen out of the condo lot where I was staying but the guy made it easy for the perps, tongue sticking out towards the road and no locks of any kind.
Now that I have a touring bike, I wouldn't go back because the roads around the area are just flat and not interesting at all in my opinion. Guess I'm getting old!!!!!
