Just do it!
Best is the way I did it with the HD dual bulb so you have a hi & lo beam. The reflector it the same as HD HID set up that I believe is discontinued. To tell the truth, I never use the hi except to power my garage door opener.

I just had my local lighting guy put a hid kit in with a micro ballast. Works great! Cost me a 100 bucks all together. I am sure most people have a local "electronics guy". My connection is an engineer at 3M so it works out fairly well.

What are you after? Looks? Improved visibility? If you have the cash, LED is the way to go now. Bright, low power draw, low heat, super simple install, super bright white light. Look at threads for the Trucklite Phase 7

Would love the LEDs but not able to spend the cash at this time.... thats why I was looking at HID's. EFX has a complete kit for under $50.00. found them on EBay and hoping someone has heard of them

I'm installing euro effects as soon as my batwing comes back from my painter. Also plan on using a modulator on the high beam halogen bulb

I did the sportiva hid kit. It's a single bulb with high and low hid. The light is so bright. I didn't compare it to the phase 7 but you can't complain for the price. I have 6000k bulb with a 55 watt ballast. Easy installation.

How do these "HIDs" compare to a good after market halogen bulb? I've always used those and they are plenty bright ; like the 90/100 Watt for instance.
