Default 21" Rims/Streetglide

Starting to look at finaly getting rid of my stock rims and getting custom rims. Don't know if I should move up to a 21" rim in the front because I don't want to compromise the ride or handling too much. The 21" rim just looks so much better to me than an 18" rim.

I just switched from an 18" front wheel to a 21" front wheel and so far have noticed no noticeable difference. I also changed out the stock rear 16" wheel for an 18" wheel. The only reason I'm wanting to lower the front end is to eliminate the lean angle when the bike is on the side stand. I really like the look of my bike with the new wheels.

Default Here's my 21

Pm 21 luxe with rotors and calipers but the progressive suspension monotube fork cartridge kit with 1" lowering kit quote from the hd dealer 26 year experience mechanic handles and feels like a sports bike it was the first one he ever installed and rode

Going to 21" will change the way it handles at a very slow speed. Mainly turning. After a few days you will not notice it. Recommend lowering the front end 1". Do not know about the rear, left mine stock. I highly recommend making the change.

How the 21" changes the ride really depends on the rider, the type of riding they do, and how comfortable they are on the bike in general. It is impossible to read internet reviews and make an informed decision.

I run 21"'s on two of my bikes without issue and have never felt uncomfortable or that my ride has suffered as a result. I have taken plenty of long trips fully loaded down without issue. I don't ride two up as my wife rocks her own bike but I do not see that making a difference either.

I do all kinds of riding. I commute daily in rush hour traffic. I take trips (long and short) and I ride locally in the mountains, canyons etc.

Have I ever regretted changing my wheels? Not me.

Feel free to give us a call at the shop and we will be more than happy to answer any and all questions that you have related to wheels. Thanks to The Q for his business as well.
